Cielo Management Consulting, LLC is a boutique consulting firm that provides human resource management consulting services in the areas of selection and assessment, performance management, employment discrimination litigation support, human capital research, employee and consumer surveying, and analytics. Cielo specializes in developing high value custom solutions to meet our clients’ needs.

Cielo Management Consulting, LLC was founded by Charles Scherbaum, Ph.D. Charles is an expert on statistics, human capital modeling, staffing, employee research methods, and assessing employee attitudes. Charles has worked with numerous Fortune 500 companies, small-to-medium businesses, and consulting firms in a variety of industries on developing human capital analytics, employee staffing, training evaluation, litigation support, and employee surveying. He has worked as an expert in employment ligation including as an expert for the U.S. Department of Justice and the EEOC.

Charles is also a professor at Baruch College where he has taught courses on HR, analytics, and research methods, in the U.S., Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan.

Charles received his Ph.D. in industrial and organizational psychology from Ohio University He regularly presents his research across the globe and publishes the results of his research in peer-reviewed outlets. Charles was one of the winners of the 2011 and 2021 M. Scott Myers Award for Applied Research and the 2018 Adverse Impact Reduction Research Initiative and Action Award from the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology as well as the 2011,  2017, and 2023 Innovations in Assessment Award from the International Personnel Assessment Council for his research on assessment and test validation.  He is currently on the editorial boards of the Journal of Applied Psychology and the Journal of Business and Psychology.

He is a member of the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology, the American Psychological Association, the Academy of Management, International Personnel Assessment Council, and the Metropolitan New York Association for Applied Psychology. He is the past president for the Metropolitan New York Association for Applied Psychology.
